dir. Quentin Tarantino
Widely considered as Tarantino’s best film since Pulp Fiction, his spaghetti-western-style WWII film Inglourious Basterds follows two stories focused around vengeance: 1) Shosanna’s revenge on the Nazis and Col. Hans Landa for murdering her family in cold blood, 2) Lt. Aldo Raine’s (Brad Pitt) squad of eight Jewish-American troops and one angry, progressive-thinking German on the Nazis for genocide. Of all the World War II-centered films, Inglourious Basterds is by far the bloodiest and most violent. Like all other WWII epics, this one also contained a talented ensemble consisting of: Pitt, Christoph Waltz, Diane Kruger, Melanie Laurent, Eli Roth, Mike Myers, B.J. Novak, Til Schweiger, and Michael Fassbender.
