Immersion celebrates Man of Steel
As Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, Take Shelter)steps to play General Zod for only the second time on film, Immersion looks at other performers who have dared play a role as challenging as a comic-book villain. If early set rumors are to be believed, Shannon should find his way toward the top of this list one day. Each performance is not solely analyzed on talent, but also an intangible villainous factor as well. Honorable mention: Jeff Bridges – Iron Monger, Tim Roth – The Abomination, Mickey Rourke – Whiplash / Crimson Dynamo, Hugo Weaving – Red Skull, Kevin Spacey – Lex Luthor, Cillian Murphy – The Scarecrow, Liam Neeson – Ra’s al Ghul and Terence Stamp as General Zod.
