F. Scott Fitzgerald was a master storyteller and Baz Luhrmann knows how to dazzle audiences with a camera. Luhrmann’s last film, Australia, was a critical-disappointment. Although the film never quite touched the epic quality Luhrmann desired his audience to see, I think his chances at making an epic film skyrocketed when he cast Leonardo DiCaprio in his first starring role since 2011 as the iconic Jay Gatsby. Throw in some 3D and a Jay-Z-written soundtrack and we have a winner. Oh, and the supporting cast is stellar as well: Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan.
