Dir. Josh Trank
Following two abysmal film installments in the early-00s, “The Fantastic Four” have lost popularity all across the comic book world. The fact that Marvel Comics have stopped production on one of their oldest, most time-tested series in a retaliatory act to pressure Fox into selling the film property back to Marvel Studios is disconcerting to say the least. Josh Trank (Chronicle, “The Kill Point”) will helm the reboot rumored to follow the found footage technique he used in Chronicle. After a lab experiment opens up an inter-dimensional portal, four scientists develop super powers from the portal’s radiation. The cast is made up of: Miles Teller (Divergent, That Awkward Moment) as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara (“House of Cards,” Transcendence) as the Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan (That Awkward Moment, Fruitvale Station) as the Human Torch, Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, The Adventures of Tintin) as the Thing, and Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Wrath of the Titans) as Doctor Doom.
