Melissa McCarthy had a down-and-up year in 2013. McCarthy started off unsuccessful as Identity Thief failed to find an audience or a kind review, however, she turned it around when Sandra Bullock teamed up with her for The Heat. Her CBS sitcom? Well… Anyway, MM’s going indie this summer. After two high-profile films in 2013 and blockbuster spy comedy Susan Cooper coming out next year with Jason Statham and Rose Byrne, a road trip with her grandma seems like an appropriate change of pace. A change of pace, it should be said, directed and co-written by her husband, Ben Falcone (Bridesmaids, What to Expect When You’re Expecting).
