Birdman has a lot of buzz going for it and nowhere as much anywhere else as in its lead, Michael Keaton (Batman, The Other Guys). In Alejandro González Iñárritu’s (Babel, 21 Grams) Birdman, Keaton plays a movie star who is most famous for his role as a super hero earlier in his career. Sound familiar? Unlike Keaton, his character falls on hard times and has to mount a Broadway play. Edward Norton co-stars as an actor in the play who tries to steal Keaton’s thunder. The rest of the talented cast includes Naomi Watts, Amy Ryan, Zach Galifianakis, Emma Stone, and Andrea Riseborough. This is Iñárritu’s first foray into comedic territory and the director couldn’t have filled the film with a better cast.
