Yet another X-Men sequel recently received confirmation for a 2017 shoot date, but 2016 has a couple films from the X-Men canon to drop in theaters before the 2017/18 film debuts. As shown above Deadpool comes out in February, and Apocalypse releases in May. (Gambit had a fall date scheduled for 2016, but that looks unlikely in the current state of production.) After drastically altering the future when Wolverine went back in time to the 1970s in 2014’s Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse picks up about a decade later in the 1980s as an age-old mutant from the days of the Pharaohs reveals himself as the bringer of the biblical apocalypse, seeking four mutant “horsemen” to help him summon the event.  Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender (Macbeth), and James McAvoy (Victor Frankenstein)return for their third X-Men film as Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens) joins to play the titular villain in the largest-budgeted Fox X-Men adventure to date.
