Dir. David Ayer
If Suicide Squad had secured an R-rating, maybe it would find a higher rank on this list, however, Warner Bros. spoke clearly that every film in its D.C. cinematic universe will at least be PG-13-friendly. Director David Ayer (Fury) boasts a comic book movie that will bring a new age to graphic novel adaptations in Suicide Squad. The film features several incarcerated villains and rogues in the Detective Comics spectrum endeavoring a government-sponsored, high stakes, top-secret mission (a “Suicide Squad”) in exchange for reduced sentencing. The bad guys are the begrudging good guys in this gritty graphic novel adaptation. Look for Batman (Ben Affleck) and The Joker (Jared Leto) to drag their age-old scrap into this one, as well, after Batman debuts earlier in the year for Batman v. Superman.
